An Allotment is suitable for growing a wide variety of produce, including fruits, vegetables, and herbs. Some popular options include tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, strawberries, and basil. However, we encourage our members to experiment with different crops and find what works best for their individual plot. We also encourage the growing of a small selection of flowers to encourage bio-diversity and support our own honey producing bee hives.
No the Association is a group of volunteers who support those allotment holders who wish to be a member, being a member of the association comes with a range of benefits as detailed on our website. You do not have to join the association, it is entirely an individual choice.
In line with tenancy agreements well behaved dogs are welcome on site but must be secure in your plot and on a lead at all times unless fully secured on your plot. Dogs cannot be left unattended and owners must clean up after their pets. We ask all owners to be mindful that not everyone is comfortable around dogs and that dogs must not disturb or threaten existing wildlife based on site such as bees, birds, cats, hedgehogs and foxes all of which are regular and welcome visitors/residents to the site.
No each site is independent other than the fact that they are overseen by Winsford Town Council http://www.cheshirewestandchester.gov.uk/your-council/councillors-and-committees/town-and-parish-councils
